บทบาททางเศรษฐกิจของชาวจีนช่วงรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้นในพื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเลภาคตะวันออก Chinese’s Economic Roles in the Early Period of Rattanakosin in Eastern Coast Area

Abstract

บทคัดย่อชาวจีนในภาคตะวันออกได้สร้างระบบการผลิต เพื่อขายในพื้นที่ชายฝั่งภาคตะวันออกของประเทศไทย พัฒนาการของระบบการผลิตเพื่อขายแบ่งได้เป็น3 ลำดับขั้น ดังนี้ 1. การผลิตเพื่อขายด้านเกษตรกรรม 2. การผลิตเพื่อขายด้านอุตสาหกรรม และ 3.การผลิตเพื่อขายด้านพาณิชยกรรม พัฒนาการในลำดับสุดท้าย ได้ทำให้พ่อค้าชาวจีนกลายเป็นกระฎุมพีชาวจีนในพื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเลตะวันออกของไทย ชาวจีนให้ความสำคัญกับระบบเครือญาติและการจัดการครอบครัวภายใต้ระบบกงสี ที่เน้นการสะสมทุนทางเศรษฐกิจของครอบครัว ชาวจีนได้สร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางเศรษฐกิจของชายฝั่งทะเลตะวันออกไปสู่ระบบเศรษฐกิจแบบคู่ขนานระหว่างเศรษฐกิจเพื่อยังชีพกับเศรษฐกิจเพื่อการค้า นอกจากนี้ชาวจีนหลายคนที่สะสมทุนจนมีฐานะความมั่งคั่งในทางเศรษฐกิจ ก็ด้วยการผสมผสานระหว่างความเชื่อในระบบเครือญาติและแรงจูงใจที่มุ่งสะสมทุน สิ่งนี้เองที่เป็นเงื่อนไขสำคัญที่ทำให้ชาวจีนโพ้นทะเลได้ก่อรูปของชนชั้นกระฎุมพีชาวจีนในพื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเลตะวันออกAbstractChinese in the Eastern region has created the production system for sale in the area of Eastern Coast of Thailand. The development of the system can be divided into three stages: 1) agriculture production for sale 2) industrial production for sales and 3) commercial produce for sale. At the last stage, Chinese merchants became the nouveau riche of Thailand’s eastern seaboard. Chinese focused on kinship system and family management under the cartel system which stressed on family’s economic capital accumulation. Chinese have built the economic transformation of the Eastern Coast into the dual track economy system between subsistence economy and commercial economy. In addition, some Chinese people who accumulated capitals and grew richer in economic combined belief in kinship system and capital accumulation motivation. These were the vital conditions which caused the oversea Chinese to form the Chinese nouveau riche in the area of eastern coast.
