การศึกษาแนวโน้มความต้องการบัณฑิตในสาขาบรรณาธิการ

Abstract

การวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความต้องการและคุณสมบัติบัณฑิตสาขาบรรณาธิการ ที่หน่วยงานผลิตและเผยแพร่สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์คาดหวัง และเพื่อนำผลการวิจัยมาใช้ประโยชน์ในการจัดทำหลักสูตรและจัดการเรียนการสอนสาขาบรรณาธิการศึกษา เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยสอบถามกับหน่วยงานผลิตและเผยแพร่สิ่งพิมพ์ จำนวน 219 แห่ง และจัดประชุมกลุ่มเป้าหมายผู้ประกอบอาชีพในวงการบรรณาธิการ จำนวน 60 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่าสำนักพิมพ์ต้องการบรรณาธิการที่มีคุณสมบัติในวิชาชีพเกือบทุกด้านในระดับมาก โดยต้องการผู้มีการแสดงออกทางความคิดได้อย่างถูกต้องกับกาลเทศะเป็นลำดับแรก รองลงมาได้แก่ สามารถตรวจแก้ต้นฉบับได้ถูกต้องส่วนคุณสมบัติทั่วไป สำนักพิมพ์ต้องการบรรณาธิการที่มีจริยธรรม ความซื่อสัตย์ ความรับผิดชอบ ความอดทน และความประณีต ละเอียด รอบคอบ ในระดับมากสุด เมื่อเปรียบเทียบความต้องการด้านคุณสมบัติทั่วไปกับคุณสมบัติในวิชาชีพ พบว่าสำนักพิมพ์เกือบทุกกลุ่มให้ความสำคัญกับคุณสมบัติทั่วไปสูงมากกว่าคุณสมบัติในวิชาชีพสำหรับจำนวนบัณฑิตสาขาบรรณาธิการ ที่สำนักพิมพ์ต้องการรับเข้าทำงานนั้น สำนักพิมพ์ จำนวน 50 แห่งระบุว่าภายในระยะเวลา 5 ปี ต้องการรับบัณฑิต จำนวน 561 คน จากการประชุมกลุ่มเป้าหมาย พบว่า อาชีพบรรณาธิการมีความสำคัญและจำเป็นต่อสังคมมาก เนื่องจากต้องมีบทบาทหน้าที่เกี่ยวข้องกับเรื่องการใช้ภาษาและการแปล ส่วนคุณลักษณะของผู้ที่จะเป็นบรรณาธิการที่ดีนั้นจะต้องรักการอ่าน รักการทำงานด้านหนังสือและมีจริยธรรม ในการพัฒนาหลักสูตรด้านบรรณาธิการจึงต้องมุ่งฝึกคนเพื่อทำหน้าที่บรรณาธิการตรวจแก้ต้นฉบับ โดยมีวิชาด้านจริยธรรมของบรรณาธิการต้นฉบับเป็นวิชาหลักเพราะบรรณาธิการต้นฉบับต้องมีความรับผิดชอบทั้งทางกฎหมาย สังคม และจริยธรรม โดยมีข้อเสนอแนะว่าควรพัฒนาหลักสูตรพิเศษสำหรับผู้ที่ทำงานบรรณาธิการอยู่แล้ว แต่ไม่มีคุณวุฒิด้านบรรณาธิการด้วย  The aim of research is to study the need for graduates majoring in editing and the qualities of them as required by the publishers of the printing media, in order to apply its consequences in the preparation of curricula and syllabi for the editing major. The data are collected by means of questionnaires received back from 219 members of the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand, and the focus group of 60 editing professionals. The consequences of the research are as follows. The publishers require to the high level editors with professional qualities in almost every respect. They state their requirements to the highest level for editors who express appropriate thoughts in accordance to circumstances, and the lower levels for those who edit manuscripts precisely, master in Thai usage skills, possess free will based on responsibility as well as wide and deep perspectives in various problematic issues, and apply appropriate language to each genre of literature respectively, With respect to general qualities of editors, the publishers state their requirements to the highest level for morality, honesty, responsibility, patience and accuracy.  Comparing the requirements of general and professional qualities of editors, it is found that almost every group of publishers require general qualities to a higher level than professional.  As for the number of graduates in editing needed by publishers, it is stated by 50 of them that 561 graduates are needed in 5 years.  According to the focus group meeting, editors are socially important and essential, as they must deal with both the Thai usage and translation. Moreover, the required qualities of a good editor are the love of reading and dealing with books, and morality. Thus, the development of the editing curricula must be aimed to train manuscript editors. There are suggestions that there should be a main course on morality and etiquette of manuscript editors, as they are responsible in legal, social and moral respects; and there should also be a special course for editors in service who do not have a specialised degree.
