การประเมินการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตปริญญาตรีของมหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา

Assessing Information Literacy among Undergraduate Students of Burapha University

Abstract

การศึกษานี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาสภาพโดยทั่วไปเกี่ยวกับการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตปริญญาตรี มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา และศึกษาเปรียบเทียบระดับการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตปริญญาตรีกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษา ได้แก่ นิสิตระดับปริญญาตรี ชั้นปีที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2545 รวม 7 คณะ ใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบแบ่งชั้น (stratified random sampling) โดยใช้คณะเป็นตัวแบ่งได้กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 320 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามซึ่งแบ่งออกเป็น 3 ส่วน คือ 1. สอบถามสถานภาพโดยทั่วไปของผู้ตอบแบบสอบถาม 2. แบบทดสอบวัดความรู้ความสามารถเกี่ยวกับการรู้สารสนเทศ จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 36 ข้อ และ 3 แบบประเมินตนเองในการรู้สารสนเทศ จำนวน 17 ข้อ ได้รับแบบสอบถามกลับมาจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 320 ฉบับ (ร้อยละ 100) วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรมสถิติสำเร็จรูป SPSS for windows  จากการศึกษาพบว่านิสิตปริญญาตรีมีระดับการรู้สารสนเทศโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลางและเมื่อเปรียบเทียบระดับการรู้สารสนเทศของนิสิตที่ศึกษาในกลุ่มสาขาวิชาที่ต่างกันพบว่านิสิตกลุ่มสาขาวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยีมีระดับการรู้สารสนเทศแตกต่างจากนิสิตกลุ่มสาขาวิชามนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 นิสิตปริญญาตรีประเมินการรู้สารสนเทศของตนเองอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง และเมื่อเปรียบเทียบการประเมินตนเองของนิสิตที่ศึกษาในกลุ่มสาขาวิชาต่างกันพบว่า แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าระดับการรู้สารสนเทศกับการประเมินตนเองของนิสิตปริญญาตรีไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กัน   This study aimed to investigate and compare the information literacy levels of undergraduate students of Burapha University. The subjects comprised 320 freshmen studying in 7 faculties in the second semester of the academic year 2002, were selected through stratified random sampling. A questionnaire was administered. It consisted of 3 parts : the general data of the respondents, an information literacy test of 36 items, and a self-assessment scale on information literacy of 17 items. There were 320 respondents and data were analyzed by SPSS for Windows.  The results revealed that the information literacy of the undergraduate students of Burapha University was at a moderate level as a whole as a whole. By comparing the information literacy levels among undergraduate students of different major subjects, it was found that there was a significant difference at .05 between students majoring in science and technology and students majoring in humanities and social sciences. The self-assessment scale on information literacy was at a moderate level and there was on significant difference among students of different subjects. Moreover, there was on relationship between the information literacy level and the self-assessment of the students.
