การอิมโพรไวส์ของแม็ก โรช ในบทเพลงเดอะดรัมส์ออลโซลวอลซ์ ดรัมส์อันลิมิเต็ท และฟอร์บิ๊กซิด ในอัลบั้มดรัมส์อันลิมิเต็ท

การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์วิธีการอิมโพรไวส์กลองชุดแจ๊สของแม็ก โรช ในบทเพลงเดอะดรัมส์ออลโซลวอลซ์ บทเพลงดรัมส์อันลิมิเต็ท และบทเพลงฟอร์บิ๊กซิด ในอัลบั้มดรัมส์อันลิมิเต็ท ผู้วิจัยได้ทำการวิเคราะห์โดยมุ่งเน้นประเด็นสำคัญต่างๆ ซึ่งประกอบไปด้วย 1) การพัฒนาหน่วยย่อยเอก 2) การทำให้เกิดกลุ่มอัตราจังหวะที่ผิดแปลกไปจากอัตราจังหวะเดิม จากผลการวิจัยพบว่า การอิมโพรไวส์เดี่ยวโดยไม่มีผู้บรรเลงประกอบทั้ง 3 บทเพลง มีแนวคิดการพัฒนาที่หลากหลายรูปแบบ โดยมีวิธีนำเสนอจากการสร้างหน่วยจังหวะย่อยเอกที่ไม่ซับซ้อน และมีการสร้างหน่วยจังหวะย่อยเอกให้กระจายอยู่บนสังคีตลักษณ์ AABA เพื่อเป็นช่วงนำเสนอ และนำไปพัฒนาให้อยู่ในลักษณะจังหวะต่างๆ ด้วยแนวคิดการซ้ำ ห้วงลำดับทำนอง การขยาย การย่อส่วนลักษณะจังหวะ การพลิกกลับ การบรรเลงถอยหลัง การสร้างประโยคถามและประโยคตอบการประดับโน้ตด้วยการเพิ่มโน้ตและรูปแบบการตีด้วยแฟลมส์ บางประโยคใช้วิธีการเน้นจังหวะที่ผิดปกติและพบการเคลื่อนที่ของจังหวะเพื่อให้เกิดกลุ่มอัตราจังหวะที่ผิดแปลกไปจากอัตราจังหวะเดิม แนวคิดที่เกิดขึ้นของแต่ละเพลงมีการนำเสนอเพื่อให้เกิดความน่าสนใจที่แตกต่างกัน ทั้ง 3 บทเพลงดังกล่าวล้วนมีความสัมพันธ์กับหน่วยจังหวะย่อยเอกที่สร้างขึ้น ส่งผลให้การอิมโพรไวส์เดี่ยวกลองชุดโดยไม่มีผู้บรรเลงประกอบมีความเป็นเอกภาพ This research aimed to study the improvisation techniques applied by Max Roach in The Drums Also Waltz, Drums Unlimited, and For Big Sid in the album entitled Drums Unlimited with an emphasis on the analysis of motivic development and irregular rhythmic patterns. According to the research, the solo improvisation without other instruments on the backgrounds in these three songs was developed through many types of methods with motivic units which were not too complicated. The songs consisted motivic units on the AABA song form in their intros and other sections developed through a variety of techniques including repetition sequence extension, diminution, inversion, retrogression, and questioning and answering. Embellishments found were adding extra notes and playing with flams. In some sentences unusual rhythmic stresses were found used to create notes resulting in an unusual movement of rhythms. Three songs were all related to their motives providing uniqueness and interestingness to solo drumming.References
