Effects of Using Online Learning for Practice Preparation on Knowledge and Readiness in Nursing Practicum among Nursing Students

Abstract

การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยกึ่งทดลองแบบกลุ่มเดียววัดก่อนและหลังการทดลอง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของการเตรียมความพร้อมการฝึกปฏิบัติแบบออนไลน์ต่อความรู้และความพร้อมในการฝึกภาคปฏิบัติ สำหรับนักศึกษาพยาบาลศาสตร์โดยใช้แนวคิด DLCPA มีกลยุทธ์การเรียนรู้แบบผสมผสาน 5 องค์ประกอบ โดยการประยุกต์ใช้ในกิจกรรมการเตรียมความพร้อมในการฝึกปฏิบัติการพยาบาลแบบออนไลน์ ช่วงการระบาดของไวรัสโควิด-19 ได้แก่ 1) การค้นพบ (discover) โดยเรียนรู้ด้วยตนเองบนโลกออนไลน์ 2) การเรียนรู้ (learn)  การเรียนรู้ (learn) จากบรรยายแบบมีส่วนร่วมโดยครูบนแพลตฟอร์ม Google Meet 3) การฝึกปฏิบัติ (practice) โดยการวิเคราะห์กรณีศึกษาและฝึกใช้กระบวนการพยาบาล 4) การร่วมมือ (collaborate) โดยการอภิปราย แลกเปลี่ยนระหว่างเรียน ร่วมวิเคราะห์กรณีศึกษา และ 5) การประเมิน (assess) โดยการประเมินความพร้อมตนเอง สอบก่อนหลังเรียน ผลการศึกษา พบว่า หลังการเข้าร่วมการเตรียมความพร้อมในการฝึกปฏิบัติแบบออนไลน์ กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยความรู้และความพร้อมในการปฏิบัติการพยาบาลผู้ใหญ่ การพยาบาลผู้สูงอายุ และการพยาบาลเด็กและวัยรุ่น สูงกว่าก่อนการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมการเตรียมความพร้อมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ p < .001 จากผลการศึกษา มีข้อเสนอแนะว่า ควรนำโปรแกรมการเตรียมความพร้อมในการฝึกปฏิบัติแบบออนไลน์ ที่พัฒนาขึ้นตามแนวคิดการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบ DLPCA ไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการเรียนการสอนทางการพยาบาลในสถานการณ์แพร่ระบาดของโรคไวรัสโควิด-19 หรือโรคติดเชื้อระบบทางเดินหายใจอื่น ๆ ได้  This quasi-experimental study, utilizing a one-group pre-test post-test design, aimed to examine the effects of online learning on knowledge and readiness for nursing practicum among nursing students. The study employed the DLCPA conceptual framework, which integrates five blended learning strategies, adapted for online preparation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The strategies included: (1) discovery through online self-directed learning and participation on Google Meet, (2) self-directed learning via Thai MOOC programs and instructional videos, (3) practical application through case study analysis and the nursing process, (4) collaboration through discussions and idea exchanges, and (5) assessment via pre- and post-learning evaluations. The sample comprised 99 second-year nursing students. The results indicated that the mean scores for knowledge in adult nursing care, child and adolescent nursing care, and aging nursing care, as well as the perceived readiness for nursing practicum, were significantly higher post-intervention compared to pre-intervention (p < .001). These findings suggest that incorporating online learning experiences based on the DLCPA model effectively enhances nursing students’ knowledge and preparedness for clinical practice during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is recommended that educators adopt these online learning strategies to boost students’ confidence and competency in providing nursing care in a hospital setting.
