The Effects of an Objective Structured Clinical Examination on Perceived Nursing Competencies and Clinical Skills Among Maternal and Child Nursing Students

การวิจัยกึ่งทดลองนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบการรับรู้สมรรถนะและทักษะทางคลินิกการพยาบาลมารดาและทารก ทั้งก่อนและหลังการใช้รูปแบบการสอบทักษะทางคลินิกของนักศึกษาพยาบาลศาสตรบัณฑิต กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักศึกษาพยาบาลศาสตรบัณฑิตชั้นปีที่ 3 วิทยาลัยพยาบาลบรมราชชนนี สุรินทร์ ที่กำลังศึกษาในปีการศึกษา 2563 จำนวน 77 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วยรูปแบบการสอบทักษะทางคลินิก และคู่มือการสอบทักษะทางคลินิก แบบสอบถามการรับรู้สมรรถนะการพยาบาลมารดาและทารก และแบบประเมินทักษะทางคลินิกการพยาบาลมารดาและทารก วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา และสถิติ Paired t-test ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การรับรู้สมรรถนะการพยาบาลมารดาและทารกอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง (ค่าเฉลี่ย = 3.00, SD = 0.91) ทักษะทางคลินิกการพยาบาลมารดาและทารกอยู่ในระดับมาก (ค่าเฉลี่ย = 9.20, SD = 1.11) และเมื่อเปรียบเทียบคะแนนเฉลี่ยของการรับรู้สมรรถนะการพยาบาลมารดาและทารก และทักษะทางคลินิกการพยาบาลมารดาและทารก หลังการทดลองสูงกว่าก่อนการทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p < .001) จากการวิจัยแสดงให้เห็นว่ารูปแบบการสอบทักษะทางคลินิกช่วยส่งเสริมการรับรู้สมรรถนะและทักษะทางคลินิกเกี่ยวกับการพยาบาลมารดาและทารกของนักศึกษาพยาบาล ดังนั้นควรมีรูปแบบการสอบทักษะทางคลินิกในรายวิชาภาคทฤษฎีเพื่อช่วยส่งเสริมการรับรู้และทักษะทางคลินิกในการพยาบาลมารดาและทารกของนักศึกษาพยาบาลต่อไป This quasi-experimental research compared maternal and child nursing perceived performance and clinical skills among graduate nursing students before and after using the objective structured clinical skills exam (OSCE) model. The sample was 77 nursing students in the 3rd year of the undergraduate program at Boromarajonani College of Nursing (Surin) during the 2020 academic year. The research instruments were the Clinical Skills Exam Model and Clinical Skills Examination Handbook, a perceived maternal and child nursing performance questionnaire, and a Clinical Skills Exam Evaluation Form for maternal and child nursing. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and paired t-tests. The results showed that the mean score for perceived nursing competencies was at a moderate level (average = 3.00, SD = 0.91). The mean score for maternal and child nursing clinical skill was at a high level (average = 9.20, SD = 1.11). Post-test mean scores for perceived maternal and infant nursing performance and for maternal and infant nursing clinical skills were significantly higher than pre-test scores (p <.001). The results of this study showed that OSCE promoted nursing students’ perceived nursing competencies and maternal and child nursing clinical skills. It is recommended that maternal and child nursing students use OSCE to promote their perceived nursing competencies and clinical skills.References
