Participation of village health volunteers in mental health care for the elderly during the Coronavirus pandemic

Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินระดับการมีส่วนร่วมของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขด้านการวางแผน ด้านการดำเนินการ ด้านการจัดการทรัพยากร และด้านการประเมินผลในการดูแลสุขภาพจิตของผู้สูงอายุภายใต้สถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา (COVID-19) และเพื่อการสนับสนุนการมีส่วนร่วมของอสม. ในการดูแลสุขภาพจิตของผู้สูงอายุภายใต้สถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา (COVID-19) กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ อสม. ที่มีชื่ออยู่ในทะเบียนรายชื่อในจังหวัดนครปฐม จำนวน 389 คน เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลด้วยการให้กลุ่มตัวอย่างตอบแบบสอบถามระหว่างเดือน ตุลาคม ถึงเดือน ธันวาคม 2564 เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แบบสอบถามการมีส่วนร่วมของอสม.ในการดูแลสุขภาพจิตของผู้สูงอายุภายใต้สถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา (COVID-19) ซึ่งแบบสอบถามที่มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาของครอนบาคเท่ากับ 0.82 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปทางสถิติ ประกอบด้วย ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย (average) และ ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (SD) ผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1) อสม.มีส่วนร่วม ในการดูแลสุขภาพจิตของผู้สูงอายุภายใต้สถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา (COVID-19) อยู่ในระดับมากในทุกด้านที่ศึกษาเรียงตามลำดับคะแนน ได้แก่ ด้านการจัดการทรัพยากร (ค่าเฉลี่ย = 4.20, SD = 0.59) รองลงมาเป็นด้านการดำเนินการ (ค่าเฉลี่ย = 4.06, SD = 0.63) ด้านการประเมินผล (ค่าเฉลี่ย= 3.95, SD = 0.62) และด้านการวางแผน (ค่าเฉลี่ย= 3.87, SD = 0.67) 2) การสนับสนุนการมีส่วนร่วมของอสม. ในการดูแลสุขภาพจิตของผู้สูงอายุภายใต้สถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา (COVID-19)  พบว่า ทุกด้านอยู่ในระดับมาก เรียงตามลำดับคะแนนดังนี้ ด้านการประเมินผล (ค่าเฉลี่ย = 3.97, SD = 0.73) รองลงมา คือ ด้านการจัดการทรัพยากร (ค่าเฉลี่ย = 3.94, SD = 0.66) ด้านการดำเนินการ (ค่าเฉลี่ย = 3.90, SD = 0.65) และด้านการวางแผน (ค่าเฉลี่ย = 3.88, SD = 0.68) จากผลการวิจัยมีข้อเสนอแนะว่า องค์กรด้านสุขภาพสามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการดูแลสุขภาพจิตของผู้สูงอายุภายใต้สถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา (COVID-19) เพื่อให้ผู้สูงอายุมีสุขภาพจิตที่ดี สามารถดำเนินชีวิตอย่างมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีต่อไป  This survey research aimed to assess the level of participation of village health volunteers in the planning, operation, resource management, and evaluation of mental health care of the elderly in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic, and to assess support for the participation of village health volunteers in the mental health care of the elderly during the Coronavirus pandemic. The sample was 389 village health volunteers whose names were in the Village Health Volunteer register in Nakhon Pathom Province. Data were collected by questionnaire between October and December 2021. The questionnaire measured participation of village health volunteers in the mental health care of the elderly during the Coronavirus pandemic. The questionnaire had a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.82. Data were analyzed by percentages, means (average) and standard deviations (SD). The results showed, first, that village health volunteers were involved in the mental health care of the elderly during the Coronavirus pandemic at a high level in all aspects studied: resource management (average = 4.20, SD = 0.59), operations (average = 4.06, SD = 0.63), evaluation (average = 3.95, SD = 0.62), and planning (average = 3.87, SD = 0.67). Second, support for participation of village health volunteers in the mental health care of the elderly during the Coronavirus pandemic was also at a high level in all aspects studied: evaluation (average = 3.97 SD = 0.73), resource management (average = 3.94, SD = 0.66), operations (average = 3.90, SD = 0.65), and planning (average = 3.88, SD = 0.68). The findings suggest that health organizations can successfully use village health volunteers to provide mental health care of the elderly, thus promoting good mental health and high quality of life, even during the Coronavirus pandemic.
