Abstract

การเคลือบในสุญญากาศเป็นกระบวนการสร้างชั้นเคลือบที่บางมาก ในลักษณะอะตอมต่ออะตอม หรือ โมเลกุลต่อโมเลกุลของสารเคลือบในภาวะสุญญากาศบนพื้นผิดวัสดุที่ต้องการ ความหนาของชั้นเคลือบอยู่ในระดับนาโนเมตร จนถึง ไมโครเมตร สารเคลือบที่ควบแน่นเป็นชั้นเคลือบสามารถสร้างได้จากวิธีการต่าง ๆ ปัจจุบันการเคลือบในสุญญากาศมีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างมากต่อวงการวิจัยและอุตสาหกรรม แต่กลับพบว่าการศึกษาและวิจัยด้านการเคลือบในสุญญากาศของประเทศไทยยังมีน้อยมาก ทำให้เทคโนโลยีด้านการเคลือบในสุญญากาศยังคงเป็นเรื่องค่อนข้างใหม่สำหรับวงการอุตสากรรมในประเทศไทย ส่วนใหญ่เป็นการศึกษาวิจัยเฉพาะในสถาบันการศึกษาเท่านั้น เนื่องจากเครื่องเคลือบในสุญญากาศเป็นระบบที่ซับซ้อนและมีราคาแพง  บทความนี้นำเสนอการวิจัยและพัฒนาของห้องปฏิบัติการวิจัยเทคโนโลยีสุญญากาศและฟิล์มบาง มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพากับงานวิจัยและพัฒนาด้านการเคลือบในสุญญากาศสำหรับอุตสาหกรรมในประเทศไทย  Vacuum coating or vacuum deposition is a processes used to deposits a thin layer, atom-by-atom or molecule-by-molecule, at sub-atmospheric pressure (vacuum) on a desired surface. The layer thickness has in a few nanometers to micrometers. The condensing particles which form to be a thin layer may come from the variety of the sources. Vacuum coating has important roles for both researched and industrial aspects. Although understanding of vacuum coating is very important for technological development and industries use, researches on vacuum coating are not famous in Thailand. This technology is still very new in Thailand for use in industrial application but at the researched levels, it has been studied in many researched laboratories. Since, the system for vacuum coating is quite complicated and expensive. The research and development in vacuum coating for Thai industrial by Vacuum Technology and Thin Films Research Laboratory, Burapha University will be presented in this paper.
