History and Local Wisdom from Tumbol Bangphra, Amphur Si Racha, Chon Buri Province

Abstract

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อรวบรวมข้อมูลทางประวัติศาสตร์ และภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นของตำบลบางพระ อำเภอศรีราชา จังหวัดชลบุรี ตั้งแต่เริ่มปรากฏชื่อเมืองบางพระเรือในแผนที่โบราณจนถึงปัจจุบัน โดยใช้วิธีสืบค้นเอกสารและการสัมภาษณ์ ผลการศึกษาทีดังนี้ ในด้านประวัติศาสตร์ ชื่อบางพระเรือปรากฏครั้งแรกในแผนที่ไตรภูมิสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาบางพระเคยมีฐานะเป็นเมือง เป็นอำเภอ เป็นตำบล เป็นสุขาภิบาล ปัจจุบันเป็นองค์การบริหารส่วนตำบล และเป็นเทศบาล ในอตีดเคยมีการจัดตั้งหน่วยฝึกพลทหารขึ้นที่บางพระ พระมหากษัตริย์ที่เคยเสด็จประพาสบางพระ ได้แก่ พระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว และพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ที่มาของชื่อบางพระตามคำบอกเล่ากล่าวว่ามาจากลักษณะของหินที่คล้ายพระพุทธรูปซึ่งถูกบังไว้ข้างทางเกวียน และจากการเป็นศูนย์กลางทางพุทธศาสนาของวัดสว่างอารมณ์ในด้านภูมิประเทศ การคมนาคม และการศึกษา สภาพพื้นที่ตำบลบางพระในอตีด เป็นป่าดงดิบ ประชาชนตั้งบ้านเรือนเป็นชุมชนเล็กๆ กระจายไปตามริมห้วยสุครีพซึ่งเป็นแหล่งน้ำจืดที่สำคัญ บางพระมีท่าเรือชายทะเลหลายแห่ง ชุมชนชายทะเลส่วนใหญ่เป็นชาวจีน หลังสงรามโลกครั้งที่ ๒ ป่าไม้ถูกทำลายอย่างรุนแรง และมีการตั้งโรงงานแป้งมันซึ่งสร้างมลภาวะอย่างมาก การคมนาคมในอตีดทางบกใช้เกวียน และม้า ทางน้ำใช้เรือใบ ในด้านการศึกษา ศึกษาที่วัดบางพระจนถึงประถมปีที่ ๓  ภูมิปัญญาพื้นบ้านของตำบลบางพระ ได้แก่ ภูมิปัญญาด้านการทำมาหากิน ภูมิปัญญาด้านการรักษาโรค ภูมิปัญญาด้านการกินอยู่ ภูมิปัญญาด้านศาสนา ความเชื่อ และประเพณี ภูมิปัญญาด้านภาษา วรรณกรรม และศิลปกรรม ภูมิปัญญาด้านการอยู่ร่วมกันในสังคม สถานที่สำคัญของบางพระประกอบด้วย สถานที่สำคัญทางศาสนา และวัฒนธรรม สถานที่สำคัญทางการทหาร สถานที่สำคัญทางเศรษฐกิจและการท่องเที่ยว  The study was aimed to provide information regarding the history and local wisdom of people in Tambon Bangphra, Amphoe Sriracha, Chonburi Province from the time the name of “Bangphra Ruea” City first appeared on ancient maps up to present. The information was gathered through documents and interviews. The findings were as follows:  Historically, the name “Bangphra Ruea” first appeared on Traipoom Map in Ayutthaya Period. Bangphra was a city, Amphoe, Tambol. It is now Bangphra Subdistrict Administrative Organization and Municipality. The Military Training Unit had been founded in Bangphra. The kings who have made trips to Bangphra were King Mongkut (Rama IV) and King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The name “Bangphra” was derived from both the feature of a rock similar to the Buddha image hidden by the track side and the state of being the Buddhist Center of Sawang Arom Temple.  Physically, Tumbon Bangphra was covered with tropical rain forest. People lived in small communities along Sukleep canal which is the major source of water. There were many sea ports and people in seashore community are mostly Chinese. After World War Two, the area of forest was seriously damaged and starch production factories were built, which caused severe pollution. Carts and horses were used for land transportation and sailboats were used for water transportation. For education, the third grade at Wat Bangphra was the highest level available.  Local wisdom in Tambon Bangphra includes Day to Day Living, Medical Treatment, Way of Living, Religion, Beliefs and Traditions, Language, Literature and Arts, and Social Interaction.  Important places in Bangphra included important religious and cultural places, military centers, economic and tourist places.
