A Survey of Manpower Demand on MBA Graduates for Eastern Seaboard Companies

Abstract

การสํารวจความต้องการบุคลากรที่จบ MBA ของธุรกิจในภาคตะวันออกนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความต้องการและคุณลักษณะที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้ที่จบ MBA ที่ธุรกิจต้องการในปัจจุบัน โดยจำแนกตามประเภทของธุรกิจ ทุนจดทะเบียน การร่วมทุนของธุรกิจ อายุของการประกอบธุรกิจ โดยเป็นการวิจัยเชิงสํารวจและเก็บตัวอย่าง ตามสัดส่วนที่ได้กำหนดไว้ ในแต่ละพื้นที่ ซึ่งมีจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 76 บริษัท จากการศึกษาพบว่าประมาณร้อยละ 25 ของกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ศึกษา เป็นธุรกิจประเภทอุตสาหกรรมประกอบรถยนต์และผลิตชิ้นส่วนรถยนต์ มีทุนจดทะเบียน ตั้งแต่ 5,000 ล้านบาทขึ้นไป มีการร่วมทุนระหว่างชาวไทยกับชาวต่างชาติ มีอายุการประกอบธุรกิจถึงปัจจุบัน อยู่ในช่วง 6-10 ปี ส่วนใหญ่มีบุคลากรที่จบ MBA ต่ำกว่า 10 คน มีการวางแผนด้านการพัฒนาบุคลากรระดับ MBA ในองค์กรขึ้นมาชดเชยและรับผู้ที่จบ MBA จากภายนอกโดยเป็นเพศชายหรือหญิงก็ได้ และอายุระหว่าง 31 - 35 ปี ลักษณะที่พึงประสงค์ของผู้จบ MBA ที่ธุรกิจต้องการส่วนใหญ่เน้นในด้านความเป็นผู้นํา ความซื่อสัตย์สุจริต ทักษะทางความคิด แก้ไขปัญหา ทักษะทางด้านอารมณ์ (EQ) ทักษะทางด้านการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ ความซื่อสัตย์สุจริตเป็นลักษณะที่พึงประสงค์ของบุคลากรที่จบ MBA ที่ธุรกิจต้องการมากที่สุด ในปัจจุบันพบว่า กิจการที่มีการลงทุนโดยชาวต่างชาติ 100% จะเน้นความสามารถในด้านการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษพอๆ กับความต้องการของธุรกิจที่ลงทุนโดยคนไทย 100% ส่วนใหญ่ธุรกิจมีความต้องการบุคลากรที่จบ MBA เพิ่มขึ้นภายในระยะเวลา 2-3 ปีข้างหน้า  The purpose of the survey was to investigate the manpower demand and desirable characteristics on MBA graduates in Eastern Seaboard companies.  The selected companies were classified by business types, capital size, type of joint venture, and ages of Business's operation. A survey research was conducted.  A sample of human resource managers from 76 companies, which was used to predetermine the proportion for each area of the Easterm Seaboard companies, was collected.  The study found that around 25% of the samples were in automotive parts manufacturing and automobile assembling industries with registered capital of at least 5,000 million Baht.  The companies were Thai and foreign joint venture businesses which have been in operation for 6-10 years.  Most of the companies were currently employing less than 10 MBA's. According to Human Resource development plans, most of the companies encouraged their existing personnel to earn MBA degrees, but still employed new MBAs from external sources. The required age limit of MBA’s was between 31 and 35 years.  The most desirable characteristics of MBA’s were strong leadership skills, honesty, problem-solving skills, high Emotional Quotient, and proficiency in the English language. English language skill was equally desired by both 100% foreign-owned and 100% Thai-owned companies. Demand for MBA graduates for the eastern region for the next 2 to 3 years will increase.
