ชนชั้นเสี่ยงในเมืองท่องเที่ยว: กรณีศึกษาพนักงานจัดเก็บขยะของเทศบาล

Abstract

          การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการศึกษาถึงความเสี่ยงทางด้านเศรษฐกิจ สังคม และสุขภาพอนามัยของพนักงานจัดเก็บขยะของเทศบาลในเมืองท่องเที่ยวแห่งหนึ่ง เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นถึงความเสี่ยงของพนักงานจัดเก็บขยะของเทศบาลในมิติต่าง ๆ ภายใต้ระบบสังคมตามแนวคิดแบบเสรีนิยมใหม่ในปัจจุบัน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ผลพวง จากการพัฒนาของเมืองและธุรกิจการท่องเที่ยวตั้งแต่ทศวรรษที่ 2530 เป็นต้นมา ทำให้พนักงานจัดเก็บขยะของเทศบาลมีจำนวนเพิ่มมากขึ้น แรงงานส่วนใหญ่มาจาก สาเหตุของการหลีกหนีความไม่แน่นอนทางเศรษฐกิจจากชนบทเข้ามาสู่อาชีพในเขตเมือง โดยความเสี่ยงในอาชีพใหม่ที่เกิดขึ้น ได้แก่ ความเสี่ยงทางด้านสถานภาพทางเศรษฐกิจ อคติทางสังคม และสุขภาพอนามัยที่เกิดจากอาชีพพนักงานจัดเก็บขยะของเทศบาล           This study aims to study the risks of economic, social and municipal garbage collectors’ health in a tourist city. Therefore, the study illustrates the various dimensions of risks of the municipal garbage collectors under the neo liberal-based social system. The study results found that the development of the city and tourism business since 1987, the number of garbage collectors have increased. The problematizations of escaping unstable economic was the consequents of labor’s mobility from the countryside to urban occupation. As a result, the new occupational risks have occurred parallelly with the risks of economic status, social prejudice, and health problems caused from doing the municipal garbage collectors.
